The Club held its inaugural C-UD awards in order to promote the importance of the Club’s values. The C-UD awards are the club’s best and fairest awards and consist of three categories:

  • Players MVP awards for each team: after every game, each player votes on a 3/2/1 system for the Most Valuable Player for that game. These votes are then tallied for each team at the end of the season to determine the team’s MVP.

  • Coach’s awards for each team: Likewise, after every game the coach for the day awards 3/2/1 votes. These votes may be given for performance, influence on the game, implementation of a specific task or anything the coach sees fit, including behaviours and culture. Pizza vouchers from
Club sponsor The Wembley were provided with these weekly awards. Total coach’s awards points were tallied for the season to determine the team’s coaches award recipient.

  • C-UD Award: the Players MVP votes are combined with the Coaches Award votes, to get the overall club MVP: with the coaches votes getting scaled up by a factor of 3. The player with the most votes in total is the C-UD winner.

Each player and coach puts their confidential vote into an envelope held by each team’s manager  following each game. The votes were then unsealed and tallied by a person who is not associated by the
club, with two committee members each separately checking the votes tallies and the outcomes.

The awards were held at a whole-of-Club awards night following the conclusion of the season’s finals, with more than 100 members and supporters attending. The event was organised by Bruce Young,
Tracie Fowlie and the committee. The Club sincerely thanks these members and all of the attendees for their substantial efforts.
